TEE OFF TO HELP STUDENT-ATHLETES

Annual Catamount Golf Tour is now underway

Catamount Golf Tour

The Western Carolina Department of Athletics and the Catamount Club have again partnered with Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort for the Catamount Golf Tour. The schedule runs through late September with five events across North Carolina and one in the Upstate of South Carolina. Remaining tour stops are listed below.

An added wrinkle to this season’s golf tour is the WCU Staff “5th Player Auction.” As golfers make their way to their carts for each tournament welcome and rules announcements, they will have an opportunity to participate in a mini-live auction. All WCU coaches and staff members on hand will be “on the auction block” to aid the four-player teams throughout that specific tournament. In short, each player of the foursome could chip in a minimum of $25 apiece for the right to have a fifth player for the day. Bidding for the WCU staff “5th Player” will begin at $100.

The Catamount Golf Tour was established in 2008 to help organize various golf tournaments orchestrated by WCU’s alumni and supporters. All proceeds directly benefit WCU student-athlete scholarships.
