Thanks for the Memories

Approximately 200 WCU alumni from the 1920s through the 1970s ‘came home to Cullowhee’ in July for the Purple and Gold Reunion on the WCU campus, including special guest Edna Davis Lewis ’22, the institution’s oldest living graduate on record. Pictured above (at center), siblings Betty Flake Sink and Jesse Flake ’52 MAEd ’59 enjoy lunch while (far left) Kenneth Lamb ’61 EDS ’72 and (far right) Cromer Curtis ’61, Dick Cardell and Mary Francis Cardell ’61 get reacquainted with old friends at a porch social. In addition to lots of reminiscing, the reunion included a campus tour, a dinner and dance, and a farewell breakfast.
