There are a new lord and lady at the head of the table at Western Carolina University’s annual Madrigal Dinners. For the 40th incarnation of the popular holiday event, Boyd Sossamon ’83 and wife Lynda Sossamon ’69 took over the roles that had been held by James and Barbara Dooley since 1979. A celebration of winter and the holidays associated with the seasons, the dinners re-create the pageantry, music and food of 16th-century England. When they are not fulfilling their official functions as lord and lady, the Sossamons keep busy operating the Radio Shack/Total Data Systems store they own in Sylva. During his days as a WCU student, Boyd Sossamon served as president of WCU’s Concert Choir and as a member of the Early Music Ensemble.
